Follow these instructions to sign into any Microsoft Office apps on your iPad or other mobile device.  These instructions use Microsoft Word on iOS 13, but the instructions are fundamentally similar for other Office apps and operating systems.

  1. Read through the information about 'Iolani-managed Microsoft accounts here (and make sure you are eligible for Microsoft 365).

  2. Install the apps you want to use on your device.  For school-issued iPads, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote are available for download in Self Service.

  3. Open one of the Office apps and tap "Existing Microsoft 365 Users? Sign in."

  4. Type in your 'Iolani email address and tap "next."

  5. (Skip if you do not see this screen) If you created a personal Microsoft account using your @iolani.org email, you may be asked to choose between your personal account and work or school account. Tap "Work or school account."

  6. Enter your 'Iolani email password, then tap "Sign in."

  7. Wait for the app to finish activating your device, then tap "Turn on" and "Allow" if you want to receive notifications.  If not, tap "Not Now."  You can always change this setting later in the app's settings.

  8. You should see a checkmark and notification that says you're all set.  Tap "Create and Edit Documents" and start using the app.

Note: you only need to sign in once per device, even if installing multiple apps.  You may be prompted to enable notifications for each individual app, but they all share the same license.
